Stirrings Still was Samuel Beckett’s final prose work, completed in 1987. More monologue than story, it follows a narrator poised between life and what lies beyond. Trevor Bača’s music is not an accompaniment but a parallel stream, alternating with the words and reflecting on their meaning. Written for JACK Quartet, it draws listeners more deeply into Beckett’s meticulous phrasing, repetitions and interwoven structure. Produced by Manfred Eicher.
