ECM Records DUO GAZZANA: PROKOFIEV, PÄRT, SCHNITTKE CD

Sisters Natascia and Raffaella Gazzana bring exceptional intimacy and instinctive expression to music by Sergei Prokofiev, Arvo Pärt and Alfred Schnittke. Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 1 combines urgency with lyrical serenity, while his Five Melodies are interpreted with equal conviction. Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel provides a poised, contemplative pause before Schnittke’s more traditionally styled Gratulationsrondo concludes the programme. Produced by Manfred Eicher.
