Barre Phillips was the first musician to record an album of solo double bass in 1968 and has remained a master of the form. Recorded in March 2017, End To End is presented as his final solo album and the concluding chapter of his “Journal Violone”. It brings together adventurous exploration, melodic invention, rich textures, structural clarity and deep emotional expression. Produced by Manfred Eicher.
